Joel Laitinen Steps Up as Chief Executive Officer

After leading Onezise's projects from the ground up, our Chief Project Manager is officially taking the helm. Effective June 1, 2026.

Helsinki, Capital of Finland

Finland. Where Onezise was born, and where it continues to grow.

A new chapter for Onezise

From the beginning, Joel Laitinen has been one of the driving forces behind Onezise — managing timelines, coordinating contributors, shaping the direction of projects, and making sure things actually ship. Today, we are making it official.

Joel Laitinen will transition from Chief Project Manager to Chief Executive Officer of Onezise, effective June 1, 2026. This is not a restructure or a pivot — it is a natural step that reflects the work Joel has already been doing and the trust the team places in his leadership. With Onezise evolving with new contributors working on the website, games and projects we need a representative leader roled character.

Why Joel, why now

Onezise has evolved considerably since its earliest integration projects back in mid-2022. We have grown from a closed-source experimental group into a studio with active developement in game title, a cloud service team, and a distributed team spread across Finland. That growth needed someone at the top who understands every layer of what we do — from the code to the community. Something that can also represent onezise.

Joel has been that person. As Chief Project Manager he has overseen internal tooling, built contributor pipelines, and kept the team aligned through periods where most small studios would have fragmented. The role of CEO simply puts a name on what has already been true in practice.

"The title changes. The commitment does not. We have things to build and I intend to see them through."

What stays the same

Day-to-day operations, ongoing projects, and the team structure remain unchanged. The same people, the same standards, the same culture. This is a natural step and a C-Class move that comes naturally when the deciding board needs a company face.

What this means going forward

With Joel formally in the CEO seat, Onezise gains clearer external representation and a single point of accountability as we move toward upcoming releases and expand our services. It also means our project management will now be shared responsibility — giving the team more breathing room and reducing bottlenecks.

Effective date: The transition takes effect on June 1, 2026. All official communications and partnership inquiries from that date forward should be directed to Joel in his capacity as CEO.

A word from Joel

Onezise started as a just me and evolved to a bunch of people from Finland who wanted to build things — and honestly that has not changed at all. What has changed is that we now have real products, a real pipeline, and a real sense of what we are capable of. Taking on the CEO title is about making sure the structure of the company matches the ambition we already have. The projects that are upcoming are still in the works and will remain so until confirmed later.

To our team, our contributors, and everyone following along — thank you for being part of this. The next chapter is going to be good.
